Sometimes we try to take decisions into our own hands, even though Proverbs 3:5 admonishes us not to do that - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding." The fact is that He knows "better than I". God tells us that in Isaiah 55:9 - "...my thoughts and my ways are higher than yours..." Well, duh! Why do we have so much trouble understanding that? So when we have decisions to make the very first thing we need to do is pray for guidance. But a couple of problems arise. First, we get impatient, because God has His own perfect timing and wants us to wait, and we usually don't and then we "lean on our own understanding." Secondly, sometimes He gives us the answer but we're not listening and we miss it, and we "lean on our own understanding." So, the solution is: pray, wait, listen.
He knows "better than I".

I am Catholic and this song is very true, my mother tells me this message all the time: Truest in the Lord and he will show you the way! I personally don't really care what religion anyone is from, by the end of the day, God is not a religion, he is GOD, our Lord and Savior, He is the Way the truth and the Light. I am tired of the division between churches, it really doesn't matter where we are, just so long as we worship and Love God and love our brothers and sisters the sam way he does. When you say "original version", I assume you are talking about the David Campbell version from the movie "Joseph King of Dreams". Yeah, that's a good version, too. I personally preferred Joy Williams' version, so that's what I used in my video. Maybe just because I prefer to listen to female singers. But both versions are very good.11 years ago
