I have to say I love the studio version better because of the superb and driving drums augmenting the emotional energy of the moment. Interesting guitar riff, though, and juxtaposition with the voice, different and yet the same with the studio version. Either way, I adore the melody and instrumental harmonies and the energy of this song. One of my favorite songs off the album. Although, I imagine the close harmonies of not necessarily John Paul White, but someone. When I sing along, I am the one adding those phantom harmonies I hear in my head...like a long forgotten ghost of a partner.
