Why don't you move back for a while until things pick up again in Ireland ? I've never been to Manchester, but I've heard it's a dump; but what city isn't ? I grew up in Dundee after all. The incredible thing about Manchester is the enormity of great music it has produced, right from the Buzzcocks. So I may have not been there, seen the music (although I did see the Buzzcocks in Dundee, supported by Joy Division), and I'll buy a Manchester t-shirt some day !
