Bernard fucks up on the synth a few times in this one - still a good version though - and probably the only video of the group playing LWTUA live.

No offense dude, but you need to listen to more music. This song is only from 1979/1980.

Mike great words , I was lucky enough to see the off shoot of Joy Division "New Order" back in 1987 and they had the same magic minus Ian Curtis vocals but agree what they did to music back then has not been well enough documented ... Long live Propaganda Joy Division New Order

I don't say this often, and "you gotta know I'm not just some guy" but watching this has literally given me goosebumps, they completely dove head first into their craft while sending the world of music into a tale spin. Being first exposed to em' in the 90's they've worked themselves into the fabric of my thoughts and rejuvenated my love of music.

I'm guessing he didn't get it until later on. I have no idea what kind he has there, but we all can agree it's not nearly as cool...

Opportunistic with regards to the press, the record labels etc. but quite cynical from your viewpoint.

Would you say the same about Thom Yorke and Radiohead back in the 90's with the press shouting "He is the next Kurt Cobain"? A suicid is nothing but tragic. How you could eventually find something good in it, be it a musician, celebrity or people in general, is just cynical and opportunistic.

Bernard Sumner was given it by Deborah (Ian's Wife) you can actually see it one the NY 1981 live playing of "Everything's Gone Green" by New Order. It was apparently also used in the film 24 hour party people.

I would describe Manchester's music with these words: The Fall.
