Painfully dragging guitar riffs ; dark atmosphere , indescribably penetrating cold , painful and honest singing ; disturbing poem ; creepy sound. Masterpieces . Ingenious . Brilliant !!!

This is the room, the start of it all,Through childhood, through youth, I remember it all,Oh, I've seen the nights filled with bloodsport and pain,And the bodies obtained, the bodies obtained, the bodies obtained.Where will it end? Where will it end?Where will it end? Where will it end?

Sadly Ian lived in a time where people weren't as aware of depression as they are today. People back then thought it was a simple case of being sad or down in the dumps. To an extent people still do today, as I have experienced myself as a sufferer of severe depression. But at least there are support networks nowadays.Ian, as many JD fans know, had a lot on his plate at the time. Epilepsy, depression, fatherhood, a failing marriage, plus the stresses of being the leader of a band growing in popularity and on the cusp of making it big on the other side of the Atlantic. Who knows what would have happened had Ian stayed around, but considering what Ian was going through, I often think that he was doomed to his fate.

Ian Curtis, what a poor fucker. Noone's gonna dare tell me more couldn't have been done to prevent his suicide.

I hate it when I see young teenagers especially girls, wearing a Joy Division T-Shirt and they wouldn't even know who Ian Curtis was! They're only wearing it because they think that it is a modern band who is in fashion! Like if you agree.

You can really tell he borrowed a lot of Morrison's style, especially at 1:04.
