All you JOURNEY FANS are IDIOTS...Deen is very talented...but....he suffers from stage freight...the drums give him security...and if it wasnt for Steve Perry...there would be no Journey as we know it....listen to Journey before Perry...still some good stuff...but Perry took them to the top....SO enjoy Journey and let the good times roll...Oh..check out Deens new band...and hes not always behind the drums....

Journey is prob the only classic rock band that has transended into the new generation better than any other classic rock band i know. So sad to hear all this bias comments over whos better than who coming from people who probably never will grow up.

Dean has the smokey character in his voide that Perry has and that only an italian american can provide. The filapino kid is a good singer but lacks the character of Perry. Id rather hear Dean sing, they can always find another drummer.

[League]? Have you ever heard a Journey album? "In his own right" is unnecessary and silly as he is leading a great band made up of super musicians who thought it might be okay for Deen to sing. If Deen didn't love the drums so much he might be the front man for Journey. You know it was discussed; after all he did it better than Arnel while playing the drums as well as Steve Smith. IMO-that's two ass whippings at once. Arnel doesn't have Deen's: range, pitch, tone, Perry, control, or stamina.

As good a singer as Deen is...on this song, vocally he's not even in the same league as Arnel (let's not even begin to compare him to Mr. Perry). All bets off. Impressive - yes! He's a very good singer in his own right, but it was smart of Neal to find a REAL lead singer/frontman for the group in order to re-invent itself. Let Deen stick to what he knows best - rocking the kit!. Should he be the new singer?...c'mon! Enough! Arnel kicks ass on the pipes, and is a hell of a showman.

@BullhornGuy You're the type of Perry fan I respect. You don't sit there and bash Deen for his vocals or his drumming because he isn't the classic Journey. You actually admit that there is talent in the band despite them not being your preferred members. Much kudos for having intelligence on the subject.
