Look, Perry doesn't want anything to do with Journey anymore. If not for Pineda, the next generation of music lovers wouldn't even get to know Journey. Rock ON, Arnel! Talent in singing is not a trait monopolized just by one group of people, you know. Just appreciate that Journey found someone that can do justice, if not better, to Journey songs so people will continue to enjoy Journey for the next 35 years.13 years ago

I'm glad to see A Journey around with all the other garbage out today . I have seen every singer even Soto who was average , but still glad to hear great songs . Perry was getting too pushy and soft , so he was his own demise . Go get em boys , can't wait for the new disc13 years ago

I've confirmed that @NoSteveNoJourney is just a kid. His age is 10 years old. His dad was a confirmed fans of Steve Perry but was sad coz SP was taken over by Arnel Pineda. @NoSteveNoJourney live in Philippines right now. I think his father convinced him to comment negatively about Arnel Pineda. That's all I know. So don't be too hard on this kid.....He doesn't know what his doing. for hard core SP fans he is irreplaceable...but reality bites, Journey moved on w/ SA,JSS and soared higher w/ AP....now the world knows how superbly versatile Arnel is now and then...AP is now the tough feat to follow esp on live acts...he is a benchmark and an inspiration to many!!!13 years ago

@gluchnurse - That's true and i agree. But Steve dont want to be with Journey again and the guys want to move on. This is a new Journey for this generation. Steve and Arnel are 2 different people at a different time. Lets just enjoy the music and thanks for visiting my channel.13 years ago

@TheJerryChannel I seriously am looking forward to hearing the song, as I like Arnel very much. A big reason people like me are so devoted to Perry, however, is he didn't just write one or two of the hits, once he came on board he is credited as a co-writer on all but a handful of hits on all the albums+he had his own hit solo albums showing versatility. Add the producing credits & co-writing hits with others like Kenny Loggins, David Pack, & you've got the whole package.13 years ago

@GOBbluthagain go back to the Captured and Escape live albums with Perry. The man was unmatched live-and without the technology today that gives the singer's voice a rest. Remember, back in the 70's and 80's Perry was touring over 100 dates a year, with relatively primitive touring conditions in the earlier years. He did it year after year, at a higher register than they are doing the song's for Arnel, longer sets, without Deen singing the lead on some songs.13 years ago

No doubt Arnel is very good. The best singer since Steve. Listen to the best of Steve Live and the best of Arnel live and there's an extra oomph to Steve. Arnel comes across as maybe a much more disciplined singer than Steve and so he might be more consistent than Steve at times, but a less than consistent and less than disciplined Steve Perry outshines Arnel's best attempts to emulate the Steve Perry's sound.13 years ago
