at 1:58 he hints the "Train theme" from Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue!

Am I the only bass player listening to this over and over for the bass solo? I mean c'mon, all the videos posted of this Louis Armstrong festival have insane bass lines and/or solos. I'd never seen this dude before!! He's amazing! His solos are so eloquently done, and have such nice phrasing! Kudos to him... and Joscho... and his dad... (but holy shit - that bass player!!)

It's a matter of attention span. Your system won't tolerate this brand of noodling very long, mine will. Nothing wrong with that. Come back in ten years to see how you've changed. Maybe it will fascinate you then. Maybe it will fascinate you less. The rest of us are digging it now.

Lol... I often see that comment from people who can't, and never will be able to play like he does (myself included)... Of all the gypsy jazz greats I find him to be the most diverse in style, and ability. He has it all. I admit I've been tempted to make comments like that about virtuosos. But the truth is he is the best gypsy jazz player alive (keep in mind I said player, not composer).

@fgleich. why tell me what to do? I don't need you to, thanks ;)

I don't agree. I've been watching the vids and the playing and trying to figure out how he's able to get so much sound while it appears his fingers aren't even moving. I wish I could play this well. If you're not happy, listen to something else.

Yeah maybe sometimes, but what I love most about him is his speed and precision. Plus. he always changes it up.

You're more than welcome to feel that way, and I say that because you're NOT a "dickhead" about it. If you came on here and screamed shit like "THIS DUDE BLOWS, LESS IS MORE, JEFF BECK IS SO MUCH MORE THAN HE'LL EVER BE, etc..." yea...you'd be a dickhead, like all the other trolling morons who do that. I appriciate that imho Joscho is probably the most "perfect" guitarist I've ever heard, just in terms of clean playing at super human speeds. I think he mixes it up very well, we just disagree =)

why doesn't anyone ever mention the bass man? he's no less incredible than Joscho, I think BTW, aslekay, I wish I could run around like that chicken)) Thanks, for you comment anyway)) I'd laugh out loudly if my people weren't sleeping

joscho always loses my attention. I think he needs to slow down every now and then and maybe stagger it around a bit more. Any thoughts? Other than "You're a Dickhead". I mean this just gets boring...If he's telling a story with his playing it's of a chicken running around, evading capture.
