When do you ever see an artist test truly unfinished material on an audience? Even the few words she sang near the end didn't end up in the finished song, but the chords are the same. I love how committed she remained throughout the song, as if she were singing real words. It's as if she already had ideas about the song, imagery in her mind, as she scatted. Thank you for posting this rare glimpse of the evolution of a Joni Mitchell song.
