There is no doubt about the quality of Jonas Kaufmann´s voice, but in this aria he is almost consistantly painfully flat, particularly when singing mezza voce.

This hurts. It's terribly flat. Should have been honest and stick to baritone. I like the voice quality, though. I don't like Kaufmann's later guttural singing neither. Sorry, Kaufmann is just not my cup of tea. There are better placed voices, in my opinion.
