@grannydyess I saw him perform yesterday, 2/14/2012 for an Arizona Centennial celebration. Being a fan of old Westerns, Johnny Cash and all the classic Country/Western singers, I've always liked Johnny Western. It was great to hear him sing the old TV themes and it brought back nice memories. Rex Allen, Jr. performed also and he's also an excellent C/W singer.

I met Johnny Weastern in Wilcox Az some time back (More years then I care to count) He has such a strong presence when you meet him and with no effort at all on his part you instantly know you have just met a very great man.

I saw Johnny Western on the Johnny Cash show in Timmins ON. Canada in 1962 I believe as his song "Johnny Yuma the Rebel" was climbing the charts and I'll never forget it,he wore a nice brown suit and loafers and broke a guitar string. He opened up with "Big River"

Wow! I tried to play along, basic chords y'know. Not happening. Very distinct and excellent guitar work. I'm blown away.

@richardcwood1 I remember, they got rid of Johnny and Dugg Collins so they can switch from Classic Country to Rock and Roll.

@grannydyess that's ok, there was a few more musicians playing for the highwaymen which we never heard about. drummer, bassist, other guitarists or intrumentists which are never known because they play in the back. that s why it was possible that western played wuth them thx
