Have you ever wondered about the why of love? Well I hadn't either until I tried to stop loving someone, and let me tell you, I tried everything I could think of, I even tried looking at it in the scientific sense which is all about the synaptic or chemical reactions in our brain and has absolutely nothing to do with our heart even though it might feel full and warm or broken in two, there are many things that contribute to those reactions such as smell, both conscious and subconscious sight, other things such as emotions are huge contributors and stress is right up at the top, both good stress and bad stress or distress contribute and both do so in different ways, such as, say you're in love with someone, your brain has established pathways or thought patterns as a link to that person, so when all is good that pathway is open and running with no issues, but if things go wrong and you miss them to the point of heartache the chemical and nervous reactions to that pathway being blocked or damaged is the cause of your distress, so now you know romantic love is not just an emotion but rather a whole motivational system with either a reward or a very costly price to pay, while all this distress is going on we have a decrease in serotonin which can lead to feelings of obsession or something that might even feel like an addiction, so if you're like me you might just feel stuck and all the understanding of the why of love won't help you for one single minute, I wish you luck and I've told myself this over and over but I'll share it with you now, only love can break your heart and only love can fix it, that's the toughest part of all when the path is gone, you don't even feel like walking anymore so I suppose all we can do is just to enjoy this great song by JT and one last thing, it might help if you get down on your knees and ask him, personally I've pleaded and here I am, still wanting to know, Why Do I Love You So, enjoy, Dave
