Anyone else thinking that these wonderful moments are "JR against Chicago Transit Authority? Except that monster of a music machine was a band of equals, while JR had to be the General and his crew, the Navy seals...what is amazing is that they come to play for this perpetual underdog. R E S P E C T , This particular concert seems to me to have been JR's favorite or in the list. He is smiling . My dad was a little different and he would say: Study duff until you know the material cold and then go in and ENJOY the exam. Well his grandson did that but I was just too lazy. But that is exactly what Rivers does... People just have no idea his preparation and diversity that he oWNED,

Hey hall of famers pickers- why don't you count the multiple times the wrecking crew chose to back this avg performer - look closely at the "perhaps" best drummer Jim Gordon that's right and the guitarist- how many of your picks could really put on a show like this ????? He is 60 years SOLO!!!!

Wow! I read down the other comments and almost everyone feels just as I do about this amazing song. It is so very sweet in its sentimentality. It takes you straight back thru the years. Just like its lyrics. And yup, it's the best when sung straight and does not work well being improvised upon.

This song was one of 3 songs that I had listened to and instantly loved, but when I heard it I didn't know either who had sung it or what was the title of this song. I think I first heard it at age 14. It then took me until age 40 before I heard it again, knew the radio station, was able to call them immediately and get the needed name of the singer and name of the song. This was way before song recognition apps such as Shazam or Sound Hound had ever existed. The immense decades long searching had finally come to its happy conclusion! I was so relieved, got the song, and knew that finally I had the power to hear it any time I wanted. Because after I first heard it at 14, I had heard it twice later over the years during this search and both times was STILL thwarted, in that I could still not get the data to know what to buy. It was so frustrating, and my subconscious had put out a lifelong priority for hunting down even the smallest snippet of this fantastic song. That's not needed anymore........

Johnnie was a under appreciated talent and legend who helped define a generation. He was amazing with his music and made other people;s his own.

Beautiful song. I remember it from when I was a kid, thinking how life is a combination of beauty and sadness, now turned to bittersweet
