I must have played this album 1000 times, all through college, & always with memories of a girl named Tami. What a gorgeous, sad song. Wolfsky9, 68 y/o Now

Would have really, really liked to hear what Dusty Springfield could have done with this song.

This, along with Poor Side of Town, led a young 16 year old into the happiest times of his life. Yes I was that boy and met my first true love. As I listen to this, those memories come back sweeter than ever.

Back in time indeed, summer of 68 when I learned just how much true love can hurt when they leave.......we listened to this album on Saturday afternoons and danced the day away.

I wore this album out twice went years not being able to find it and finally found the CD on Amazon a few years back. I agree. It was a masterpiece and hardly anyone knows about it. Timeless tracks

Stunning track from a wonderful album. That's the late great Larry Knechtel on piano. Timeless music.

I was into the Zappa, the Beatles, Jethro Tull, Cream...AND Johnny Rivers. There was something about his voice and the sophistication of this music. I listened to this album over and over.

We're the same age and I know where your coming from, my mom's brother was a really great Uncle, cool enough to allow me access to his treasured record collection at 5 yrs. old and the first record I remember playing for myself was Johnny Rivers Live at the Whiskey A Go-Go, and dance around the hi-fi to "Memphis" because it was a song about a little girl. My beloved Uncle passed a couple of years back, but I still have a life long love of live music! Long live Johnny Rivers!

My husband and I are fighting over all the JR albums in our divorce. We've listened to them together for 30 years. I really want them but they will make me sad and make me miss him too much. Thanks for the great memories, Johnny.

Agree w/the postings,Such a Rich Voice Johnny R. Would love to see him perform. I was 9 yrs. old in '1970 I babysat a whole wknd. For this of many times & Lp's got them all still to this day. The sad thing is I''m 50 & not the generation of my Kids or anyone is going to listen let alone not knowing what a Treasure of pleasure someone could have but don't see or hear it that way.

Incredible magic from a criminally underrated singer-songwriter. Love Marty Paich's orchestration on this Tim Hardin song. Lou Adler is also so overlooked as a great producer, he helped create this unique album. This sounds like it was recorded yesterday, timeless. Is that Bud Shank on the flute?
