Even a 75 year old Johnny Nash now would be infinitely better than the pygmies masquerading as Music stars today..................

Why does the singer keep mispronouncing it "steer" it up?

This is the version I grew up with and I LOVE it. His voice is so beautiful, the beat is so steady and the musical instruments used were so unusual for the time. Thumbs up all the way!

This is good. I like hearing a well done version of a good song... But it doesn't come close to the original.

Johnny Nash is not a reggae singer. His earliest training was in gospel and classical genres, which he has performed with second-to-none virtuosity, but failed to be given the recognition he deserved. This was a period of ethnic divide.Nat Cole and Sam cook WERE fortunate .Nash was not supposed to display the purity and honesty that are his innate gift. I think of Donny Hathaway and his daughter. His reggae delivery was great;which influenced some great American singers - Streisand,Neil diamond, Aretha, etc. - to try the Jamaican-originated genre. Johnny can sing anything!

85% of reggae songs are remakes. I was around when there were 3 types, Bluebeat , Rock Steady and Ska..they all had a different beat, reggae is the modern term.
