Academy Award winning song from the movie, "A Star Is Born." The melody was written by Barbra Streisand herself, with lyrics by Paul Williams. How fitting, because Barbra Streisand is a true star at everything she does. And, she's a Brooklyn "goil" just like me. I've enjoyed her since the very first time I heard her sing on "The Ed Sullivan Show" many years ago (Just like Johnny). Johnny and Barbra's voices have given me so much joy and pleasure through the years. How fitting that he should sing a song that was a blockbuster hit by her and one she also wrote. My dream is that they record more songs together. What gifts they are to us all. I thank them for the beauty they have put into a world that needs it.

Not even the magnificent JM can pull this one off. It's Barbra's song; so identified with the movie that it just doesn't translate well to other vocalists (let alone a male).

Yes, I've had little chldreen and very young teenagers write me about how they found him here and love his voice. Another fifty years from now, people will still remember Johnny Mathis. That can't be said of too many of today's "singers." Thank you for coming by.
