Love this so much - & Johnny Cash. But ... want to see a totally different take on this song that is eerily spellbinding? Check out the clip from "Veronika Voss" (1982 movie by German filmmaker Werner Fassbinder.) Haunting - & tells this story like no other.

Oh, and I really liked Johnny's intro and can certainly relate as I too am still "just starting out" and actually still only have just album of originals so I also have to do like Johnny and so many other countless artists and play "other people's songs" whenever I'm doing a show or gig on my own. Again, this is a fantastic song and I do appreciate hearing this live version, so thank you once more!!

Dino had died a few months before this concert, so Johnny had a pretty big pair of brass ones to even do the song-- but like he did with many other songs, he brought his own genuine feel and sensibility to it and made it a most interesting and enjoyable listen. RIP Johnny, you are very much missed.
