The man that destroyed that beautiful voice & kind man should be whipped & fed to the ants & buzzatds. Guess the Indian & Scots come out. All his music will live on. One very strong man. I thought he was the dreamest when I was a teen. And he still is!

A LITTLE AFTER THE SAVAGE BEATING, HIS WIFE DIED AND HE SUFFERED FROM SPASTIC DYSPHONIA (SPASMS IN THE LARYNX) CAUSED BY THE BEATING, MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR HIM TO SING AND PRETTY MUCH ENDING HIS CAREER ALTHOUGH HE DID CONTINUE. HE'S STILL ALIVE AND REMARRIED. HE WAS A VERY TALENTED AND GREAT SINGER

It is not the Singing Brakeman. He died of TB in 1933.

@wcd47 Mr. Rodgers says he was attacked by a policeman in an unjustifeid action. This fine performer was nver the same. Metal plate in head.

@mrtoeknee641 Intrestingly this Jimmie Rodgers was born on the same year the other Jimmie Rodgers died

the singing brakeman died in 1933--this is the guy that did "Scarlet Ribbons" decades later. The early JR was really the turning point where the country popular music vein begins.

Actually Jimmy Rodgers had a prime time TV show....But he had a bad car accident that put him in the hospital for a year...Never came back all the way......I miss him.
