I think I played this album every Saturday night, two or three times through, for about 10 years when I would stay at my Grandma's house. She had the LP. This was my first taste of Cash when I was about 5 years old. Not only did I play this album two or three times through every Saturday, I think I played "Goodbye Little Darlin' Goodbye" about six times each Saturday. That was my Grandma's favorite. This album has my favorite version of Big River, Folsom Prison, and Goodbye Little Darlin'.

It's from the album that I described above, but the cd version can be found on the Bear Family box set "The Man In Black 1963 - 69 Plus"

I like this version of Big River, but I can't find it on ANY of the CD compilations. None of them- they always, but always have that jumpy thumpy choppy rhythm studio version. What CD compilation has this version? If I find it I will pay whatever (within reason) to get it. This was the version that was on Mom's old LP record from 1968. Mike in Fresno,Ca.

@ConditionOfAnonymity - I had this album from the time I was five until I wore it out! That was back in the 60's & 70's. You're right - the whole album is great, and I liked the "new" Columbia Records versions of many of the songs better than the Sun Records originals. This is one of them. Do you have any idea where I could find the entire album? Either retail or available for download would be fine.
