"Missing You" is a song recorded by John Waite. Waite's version hit number one for one week on the Billboard Hot 100 on September 22, 1984 and number nine on the UK Singles Chart. He penned the lyrics within a few minutes because he was in America and missing his English wife, Lynne.

This song was also recorded by Evan Dando and Tom Morgan as a part of Triple J's Live at The Wireless. Dando can clearly be heard saying "I think its by Tom Waits", before being corrected by Morgan.

This song was also recorded by Tina Turner in 1996 on her Wildest Dreams album and hit #12 in the UK and #84 in the U.S.

"Missing You" was also recorded by country music duo Brooks & Dunn in 1999 on their Tightrope album; their version peaked at #15 on the country chart.

John Waite re-recorded the song with country/bluegrass artist Alison Krauss and released it to country music radio in 2007. The re-recording peaked at #34 on the Hot Country Songs chart.

Tyler Hilton has also done a cover of Missing You on One Tree Hill and with Taylor Swift at her concert, as can be seen on YouTube.[1]

Another cover came from Rod Stewart in 2006 on his most recent album, Still the Same... Great Rock Classics of Our Time.

This is it what it is all about, can you get into a $10 stage, $50 mic, cheap ass guitar, cheap ass amp, cheap ass lighting, crowd that does not even remember the song, and yet pound it out like 1984 almost 98% of the feeling and vocals Good Job!!! John Waite would be proud.

It's a great song, what a great vocalist he is. You'd think the guitarist could've been more organised, his guitar is really outta tune.
