John Waite - Midnight Rendezvous RARE video HQ audio/video including lyrics!!

The Babys were a British rock/pop group best known for their songs "Isn't It Time," and "Every Time I Think of You." Both songs were composed by Jack Conrad and Ray Kennedy, and reached #13 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in the late 1970s. The 1976--1978 Babys line-up consisted of vocalist/bassist John Waite, drummer Tony Brock, keyboard player/guitarist Michael Corby and guitarist Wally Stocker.

Lyrics

Driving faster than you want me to

Can't help myself when I'm alone with you

Alright

Alright

I've passed the limit and there's no way back

Your kind of love gives me a heart attack

Alright

Alright

Cause baby can't you see

We need to spend some time alone

We need to see some dreams come true

I want to feel me touching you

We need a midnight rendezvous

On the freeway with the throttle down

You drive me crazy as we drive around

Alright

All night

The way you look tonight you aim to please

The dress you're wearin' is way past your knees

Alright

Alright

Cause baby can't you see

We need to spend some time alone

We need to see some dreams come true

I want to feel you touching me

We need a midnight rendezvous

Midnight

Midnight rendezvous

Midnight

Midnight rendezvous

Midnight

Midnight rendezvous

Midnight

Midnight rendezvous

Yeah yeah

All I really want to do

Spend some time alone with you

Yeah

A midnight

(Baby baby can't you see)

(Baby baby you and me)

(Baby baby can't you see)

(Baby baby you and me)

A midnight rendezvous

Yeah

All I really want to do

Oh I really want to **** you

Oh

Midnight rendezvous

Saw these guys front 38 Special back in 83. Waite got all pissed off because nobody paid any attention to him. 38 came out and tore the place up. They opened up with "Back on the Track." Put that on with the volume maxed and imagine a crowd as loud as it gets. It kicked serious ass!

What happened to "Head First?" We need it back! Now! (Okay. Now... This =is= the Cleveland Agora... and the mix here has the kick drum and tinkling piano way up front. Was Doug Hall -- later and for decades with Iron maiden -- on the board that night? Sure sounds like it.) (That guy could make Tony Bennett sound "punchy.")

This appears to be the tour to support the album, "No Brakes" —Notice he has the amazing Earl Slick on guitar, rather than Gary Myrick, the guitarist for that album —Saw this line-up on the Berkeley Community Theatre leg of this tour —Fantastic and, what a pleasant surprise to see Earl Slick...

Of course, the band isn't The Babys in this live clip from John Waite's solo No Brakes concerts.
