I adore this song and the songwriters....I only wish they hadn't used this pronunciation of Appalachia.

Thank you for posting this.Although I already have it, what a pleasure to know other people feel the same way about this song and John Sebastian's music. I had the ultimate pleasure of seeing him perform live just 48 hours ago and more incredibly, to meet him afterwards and have our photo taken together. I'd waited over 40 years to tell him what his music means to me and it was actually something I never thought I'd get to do. A humble, gracious, down-to-earth man. THANK YOU, JOHN SEBASTIAN!

One of the finest most beautiful songs ever written and recorded. Sebastian at his finest, brilliant. Tarzana KId, might be the most under rated album of the 70's. Maybe of the later part of the 20th century. Can you imagine American music from 1965 through today, without John Sebastian? I can't.

I remember Seb as a counselor at Apple Hill Camp. Five of us worked all Summer on his play about a man (Seb) with a disfigured face, and folks' reactions to him. Many scenes were unscripted. That was my intro into the magic of improvising on a stage. Improv theatre in the 50's! Courtesy of a certain visionary, guitar-playing, harp-blowing Camp Counselor - our Hero. This cat was an original, from Day 1. The positive imprint he made on all of us kids was indelible. To know him is to love him. Yep.
