Scofield is always so hot, cause he is the most "bluesy" jazz player...what I love of him is that he sounds as a blues, funk, even rock guitar player playin´ the jazz...and that´s cool!!

Challenging doesn't have anything to do with whether something is good music. Now, I think this is good music, don't get me wrong. A modal tune is good if it sounds good, end of story. Giant Steps (a very challenging tune to play) is great because it sounds great, not because it is hard to play. /lecture over sorry :P
