Don't know who the soloist is, but she is lovely. Her voice is like crystal, effortless.

Sometimes simplicity is what's needed to have an effect emotionally...this part uses pure melody to go straight to the audience...Not sure I'd able to make it through without being a mess by the end...you have no choice but to feel this on a strong emotional level...especially at the 2 minute mark.

One of the most beautiful pieces ever written. The ending is beyond ethereal! I remember singing this years ago and it has stayed with me. Thank you for your performance.

I remember playing this when first composed. Played in Carnegie Hall with a Boston orchestra and a Choir from Chicago.

Have sat here spellbound listening to all 7 parts. Our choir at church is now studying the Requiem - it is difficult but the dynamics of this choir's rendition are extraordinary - and I've heard several different versions. Such coloration along with the beautiful soprano voice make this one a standout. I have just finished listening and am still choked up and teary.

I love the soloist's voice, but some of her vibrato seems unnecessary. At times, it is the best thing to do, but other times, it seems over-done. I realize it's an effect of her training, so as to ably get all the way up to those notes in her higher register, and to let the audience recognize her voice as a solo part, but it doesn't feel natural sometimes. imho. But her voice is beautiful nonetheless. :) And I LOVE this full requiem. DFTBA <3

This piece moves me to tears every time. It's as if the entire Requiem is a journey through death. Through all the darkness, suffering and fear, and when we get to the light we're met with THIS...with the glory of God and the eternal light of Heaven all around. It's like it reveals itself to you little by little, and the climax of the song is when you finally embrace Jesus and walk with Him into the light. And then it's just the sunrise...your journey is over. You're in Heaven.

Who's the biddy leaning in the background, all huffy? Did she get there late and couldn't find a seat?

If the music in Heaven is sweeter than this, I really cannot wait to hear it live!
