Please note that the song was played live, voice and guitar alone in a crowded italian square. Of course, the studio version is great but there is the chorus by Jaqui and there are other instruments. It's not correct to compare 'now and then'.

I might not go that far, but I do agree that, for me, this is a bit of a perfunctory interpretation, as compared with the touching solemnity of the original Pentagle studio version.

Thank you. Pleased to help. Wish John could be back in Italy for listening him play and making other great videos. Maybe together with Bert Jansch, Danny Thompson, Terry Cox, and Mrs. Mc Shee. How'd you like it? If you read this, John, please come back to Pavia! I'm #1 fan of yours.

And another thing..! I'd like to say how gratifying it is to hear the crowd give the kind of appreciation every one of his arrangements warrants - and to see him be affected by it. It gave me a sense of justice being served!

Great heaing this live with his extra twiddles and without the accordian added for his studio version. I agree - what a guy! Bert Jansch's flatmate and Davey Graham's tenant - you don't get better jedi trainig than that!

After the show I went to the backstage and met him. I said: "you're always number one to me, John". He replied: "what do you thik about the other two guys?" (Dickinson and Theessink)
