Led Zeppelin would never have meshed or worked as well, particularly as a live act, without the glue that is John Paul Jones, he kept the soloists rooted to the song but also allowed them the room to experiment. Jimmy Page is a sloppy guitar player and what genius he had inside the studio was completely lost when he got on stage. John Bohnam, as great as he was, wanted to "play the song" rather than the drum part. Without Jones sitting in the pocket working them back to the song, Led Zeppelin would have wandered themselves into Neverland and probably not have returned after about 1972.

who is playing drums?? anyone know? looks and sounds like the guy from thee black crowes,,cant remember his name at the moment,,,but he does bonham very very well,,,,even when they toured with jimmy page,,,he is excellent replacement for bonham.even better than jason bonham , in my opinion
