Now tell me that this guy isn't a really good if not great guitarist of this generation. How can anyone downplay John's talent. I'm not a fan boy either, I have just been playing guitar for almost 15 years and some of the toughest songs I have analyzed were early John Mayer stuff and I can tell you that him and Derek Trucks are the best of this generation hands down

how is that right technique done with only two fingers?he doesn't seem to be picking each string like I would do it, he seems to be strumming but without a pick only fingers. does anyone know how it's done? the was I do it seems far from the way he does it with only 2 fingers. most people who try doing tutorials of this use 3 or 4 fingers.

Some people asked about the strumming pattern. It's a slap/bounce technique. Slap low e string then pluck up with index finger on d string then slap down on d or g string (it alternates) then pluck up again with index on the b string. It's kinda tricky but it's easy once you find the rhythm and get it down. You can modify it however but that's how john plays it. He only uses his thumb and index finger. Hope this helps.
