mmmmmmm yeah, that's nice! thanks for posting this.i 1st heard it on a special edition of the "room for squares (2002)" album which i once borrowed from the local library. it was a french special edition that i have no idea how the library got a hold of. it had a bonus disk with one video and 4 audio tracks: an alternate take of "back to you," an acoustic demo of "no such thing," this ("lenny"), and "the wind cries mary." it was SO COOL!

I'd say it's about as close as anyone is going to get but that's not the point. He took Stevie's song and did what Stevie did with Jimi's music. Did it in his own voice. Half of Stevie's best songs were written by somebody else. You don't need to compare all the time it's not what the real blues men did.
