Amidst the puerile and inconsequential of this cyber-community called existence, this man's life and lyrics had life and love. You will never lay your head down John without being loved

One of my all time favourite songs :) *Goodnight* xxx*May You Never* by James MartynMay you never lay your head downWithout a hand to hold;May you never make your bed out in the cold. You're just like great strong brother of mine; And you know that I love you true. And you never talk dirty behind my back,And I know that there's those that do. *)Oh please won't you, please won't youBear it in mind:Love is a lesson to learn in our time. Now please won't you, please won't youBear it in mind for me.May you never lay your head downWithout a hand to hold;May you never make your bed out in the cold. You're just like a good close sister to me,And you know that I love you true. And you hold no blade to stab me in my back,I know that there's some that do.Oh please won't you, please won't youBear it in mind:Love is a lesson to learn in our time. And please won't you, please won't youBear it in mind for me.May you never lay your head downWithout a hand to hold;May you never make your bed out in the cold. You're just like a great strong brother of mine,You know that I love you true. And you never talk dirty behind my back,And I know that there's those that do.Oh please won't you, please won't youBear it in mind:Love is a lesson to learn in our time. And please won't you, please won't youBear it in mind for me.May you never lose your temper,If you get in a bar-room fight.May you never lose your woman overnight.May you never lay your head downWithout a hand to hold;May you never make your bed out in the cold.May you never lose your temperIf you get in a bar-room fight;May you never lose your woman overnight.May you never lose your woman overnight;May you never lose your woman overnight.[There is a version with the following second verse]You've been just like a good and close mother to me,And you know I love you like I should. You never talk about me behind my back,And I know that there's times you could.

Solid Air and one world were the albums we had in the wee 80s. Both ten out of ten. I feel crap that I did not look for his subsequent stuff. I will now. I hope he knew how much he was loved by many folk. By Dalgliesh, Baxter and Pat Nevin, I release you from whatever tedious purgatory you may be in. Chmoanphewr. Hope u got a git

Oh boy here I go dating myself. I worked my way thru undergraduate college. Not bragging, just a fact. University of Maryland back in the day. One of the jobs I had was at the Student Union, wherein they had a upscale, remarkably good, movie theater that showed first run films. I was a projectionist there. In the half hour before the movie would begin, while people were filtering into their seats, we (projectionists) would play whatever music we wanted for the audience to listen to. From time to time I'd spin 'ol John's Solid Air. This one was a fav not only of mine but the audiences, too. There.....I just went and dated meself. ;-)John~American Net'Zen

Best song by a Scottish Junkie musician ever, I realise that doesn't really narrow the field. God bless John, one of the greatest
