A movie of his life story would be interesting! Least he was 'real' for good/bad. Great musician & superb innovative guitarist

So glad I managed to catch him in his last three concerts in the Royal Concert Hall. His Solid Air concert was stunning. And I'll never forget his acoustic version of Sweet Little Mystery. Stunning.

I was a little too young to appreciate John Martyn when he was alive, but his music is the soundtrack to my childhood. My Dad played him at any oppurtunity; after an argument, travelling in the car with the sunset, late at night when the room was all smoky, sung to my Mum as a joke, but with so much love. All these little memories I cherish and for that, John is the greatest singer and songwriter there ever lived. His music makes me feel, and this song never ceases to make me cry. Thankyou. X

Me and my 17 year-old son saw him in Cardiff on the 21st November, same tour. Magical evening with him mumbling incoherently between songs in his broad accent and laughing loudly at his own jokes (one about a penguin, I seem to remember...) Quite a brilliant one-off. I believe the line up was Alan Thomson on bass, Arran Ahmun on drums, Spencer Cozens on keybaords and Martin Winnings on sax, but please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!

Saw him in Leeds on his last tour - pure serendipity - I wanted to take my wife out for her birthday and there was nothing on in Sheffield. One of the best gigs of my life. Don't think I'd seen him since the 70s, and had no idea it was the last chance. A magical evening. Does anyone know the name of the sax player on that tour?

I was at this concert which was shortly before his death .I have been to many of his gigs over the years and you never quite new what you were going to get, but quite honestly he was always amazing - He has left us so much - Long Live The Master
