For me, the greatest singer -songwriter - guitarist. Hed just come back from the US here, and had altercation with several bouncers according to one description in a biography. This is one of his greatest songs, there were so many. I saw him first in 75 as a young 27 year old..he was a phenomenon..the live act to see was the word on the circuit then. He discarded the guitar hero image, purposefully, not that he ever wanted it, but continued to make the most soulful music, as here.

I've heard it said that 'John Martyn' "blured" his vocalisation of lyrics (get that), going more for emotion than clear dictation. Yet, I have very impaired hearing since age 20..(now 55). I have no problem hearing John's lyrics at all.? Most other singers, I cannot hear WTF they are singing.! Feedback anyone, on what is happening.?

I didn't know who John Martyn was until his death and I feel as if I wasted 30 years of my life never listening to him. In my estimation, one of the top 3 songwriters/singers. Such a shame he is no longer here with us. He is needed... always.
