I've seen a lot of covers of this lately, and they're pretty nice, but since none of them had Rickenbacker karate chop action - I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring.
Anyway, I love the song! Had a lot of fun playing it.
Quick note on the guitar itself - despite the gold pickguard, it is a regular 320. I swapped out the standard parts but don't fret; they're all quite safely tucked away if I ever change my mind. I prefer this look.
Apologies for the rough edges. I was having a prick of a time setting this up, I mainly do these covers once in a while so that I can remember how all of this equipment works. What I really want to be doing is finally doing a proper job of some original songs. Until then, I'll have to keep practicing on songs like this one. Ha.
It's a lesson in double-tracking, for anyone who wants to do likewise - unless your monitoring is spot on, you should probably mute the other track that you're going to be singing in unison with, because it plays hell with your pitch if you're not used to doing it. I found it bloody difficult to concentrate on what line was what! Again, very out of practice; haven't had a gig in six months and I haven't recorded on my own in over a year.
Cheerio! I might do more soon. We're also definitely overdue to put some songs on Pablo's channel, so I may wind up helping him out there instead.
(Instruments used were a Yamaha acoustic, Rickenbacker 320, David's Hofner Icon Bass, and myself hitting on EZDrummer samples).
