Beautiful and moving. Amazingly, John hated his own voice. I adore it, I think it's incredibly sexy, and I always thought of it as the voice of the Beatles, even before I knew which of the Beatles it belonged to. I like it even better on his early performances like Please Please Me, Twist and Shout, You Can't Do That, etc. It had a steely edge to it. Here its softer.

This should have been the final cut. This is it. Right here. This version shows the most emotion. Forget the double tracking. This is it. One of the only things that is missed on this version is the arpeggiated version of the chords in the chorus. But who cares. This sounds great. This is the way the song was meant to sound. Raw and straight from the heart.

What is the point of this? What's wrong with the original. IMO the original has more texture, AND you don't have what I think is Yoko singing in the background!
