Nice, but George's version blows it out of the water.

Some? Yea, maybe. But I think you missed the point. You see, JLH wrote his songs back in a day when a black was a second class citizen and doors were sealed tightly shut. Especially in the South where Jim Crow laws existed into the 1960's. Most of the hardcore rappers I've seen are nothing more than filthy mouthed thugs who have no ambition to do anything to help make the world a better place. Just my opinion, but that's the way I see it.

There is actually some rap that is really interesting though. It's really a modernized version of the blues in some respects, being that many rappers tell the stories of living in the inner city and the negative impacts of crime and "living the life".

Like I said before the Boogie man is cool!

Now this is how you tell a story. Some of these so called rappers should listen to this before they start pretending they know what shit's about.

@BlindoAndFriends yeah, george thorogood's version is acutally a medley of this song and one bourbon one scotch one beer which also by John Lee Hooker.

I can't believe i just STUMBLES onto this! i always loved george thorogoods One Bourbon One Scotch One Beer but this is great. I'm guessing this is where it came from? I mean, it's so similar!

More white men can relate to this song now then ever before. We sing the blues now way down low finding our blue eyed soul.
