I lived in Memphis and uses to hang out with John Kilzer some. It was a whole different world back then. I still keep up with a few of my Memphis friends from those days. Haven't seen John In years though.

This really wasn't my type of music back the the 80's, can't remember how I found out or who turned me on to John Kilzer. His album Memory in the Making is a great album, wore out 2 cassettes (before cd's) listening to it.

John Kilzer and Keith Sykes were huge in Memphis during the early eighties! A lot of talent.

When this song came out, I was absolutely sure this man would be a star. Too bad Geffen records sucked at breaking any new band that wasn't Guns and Roses."She keeps Stalin on the Wall,Beatles in a Box,Flags in the halland Lennon in her locket!"

I'm from close to Memphis and my mother used to listen to John when I was a kid; I was little when this song came out. But I know every lyric!! She listened to it constantly. Memory in the Making and Busman's Holiday rock!! And look at his baby face- so cute.

Peaked at #12 on the AOR/mainstream rock charts in 1988. I wish iTunes had the entire album. All it has is this video but I also want the other AOR hit track "Green, Yellow, Red" which is just as hard as this one to find. I'm hoping someone reissues the album. I fear this album will be another Tarney/Spencer Band "Run For Your Life", Mistress "S/T", Van Stephenson "Righteous Anger", or Billy Rankin "Growin' Up Too Fast" (translation: another out of print album that will unlikely be reissued.

When I heard this song, I was just about to get out of the VA in Little Rock. Seems had this thing called, PTSD, from the Nam. I was driving toward Texas. Picked up the radio station from Shrevesport, LA.98.1. or 98.8, hell, long time. Sexy blond was the DJ. I knew of Kilzer from Memphis. The song made me start jumpin in my seat. I got to a payphone, and got the number too that station. I explained my situation to that hot dj. She played it for me twice on the way home. What memories, thanks JK.
