I choose this song to play at my mother's funeral service ~ John Huling - Father's Lullaby (Return to the Spiritlands)

Do not stand at my grave and weep,

I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,

I am the diamond glints on snow,

I am the sun on ripened grain,

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush

I am the swift uplifting rush.

Of quiet birds in circling flight,

I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there ...I did not die.

Yes. It's the only thing on the news today. Horrible killings--some small children were killed or injured, over 140 in the hospital, so far. Many lost limbs. What kind of soulless coward deliberately aims at children?! Only good to come from it was all the racers present who--not knowing if there were more than 2 bombs--immediately stepped in to help best they could to rescue survivors. It was too blocked to get people to the ambulances! Hideous.

I am in the North West of England, some 200 miles north of London. I have been to the States a couple of times, Florida the last time in 1989, and Boston and New York in 1986 - my thoughts go out at this moment to the people of Boston caught up in yesterday's atrocities :-(

P.S. Where are you in the UK? I've only been to London, where I "roomed" with pen pals in E. London for a month. People were so NICE to me! Wish I were able to return...sigh...!

Thank you! =IF= I can't find a copy, I'll take you up on that! If I do, please tell me your costs, as it's NOT the money that stopped me. In any case. it's worth it to me! The variance in our CDs & yours sounds like a typical business practice--it forces one to buy BOTH (eye roll...). The film industry does the same thing. Sigh....

Glad to be of service Connie :-) There's nothing you need do for me...but, if you find you can't get the CD anywhere, I can make a copy and post it to you. I have struggled on a lot of occasions to find tracks of Native America music, and have also discovered that what is on a CD in America is completely different to here in the UK, despite them being of the same name and by the same artiste!

Hi Connie, I think this was a comment on the words read at someone's funeral when the music was being played. (my brain fails me a lot these days, lol!). But, I have got the CD, it is called Ancient Canyons, and there are some other fabulous tracks on there also.

I can't fathom a heart that is unmoved by this. May your father be at peace, for he has a wonderful son. God bless you.

"Words?" Where does one find them? I didn't know they came with the music!

Just wanted to add this--it wouldn't fit in my 1st post: I am so smitten with it's tenderness--that sweet, calm flute...the image of a father holding his child, guarding it through the long night, loving it more than himself... It never fails to bring me to tears of joy. Connie

Oh...oh...ohhhh.... I have searched over half a decade for this song. I was told ir didn't exist! But I knew it DID, & I VOWED TO LOCATE IT! Now I just need to find out where to get a copy of the CD. Anyone know? It's likely out of print, but even my local shop that deals in rare music is clueless, here! IF YOU KNOW, please make an old woman blissful & tell me! You may drop me a note at my Facebook page. My name is Connie Crouch--in Austin, Texas.
