John Holt "John Kenneth Holt" (Kingston, July 11, 1947 - Reino Unido, October 19, 2014) was a Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter.

Born in the region of Greenwich Farm, the Jamaican capital, John Holt started in the music world at age 12, when he participated in music competitions, many common in Jamaica at that time. But he would be known to join the group of rocksteady The Paragons in 1964, originally replacing the band leader, Leroy Stamp. In voice Holt, the song "The Tide Is High" was released in 1967, which would later be recorded with great commercial success by the British rock group Blondie. Even the Paragons, he recorded some successes in the Jamaican charts, as "Tonight", "Ali Baba", "I See Your Face" and "Wear You to the Ball."
