A song for all fallen soldiers.....

This song was originally a poem written during WWII, and John Gorka put it to music. I found this version of the song, and put the images to it as a tribute.

I also recommend "He's Coming To Us Dead" an old Grayson and Whitter piece re-done very nicely by Norman and Nancy Blake and "Nue Ba Den" by Mike Morningstar. I know the Morningstar piece is on YouTube. Every generation of veteran poets has valid things to say, amongst which is the general observation -" Let my generation be the last one that does the killing and dying" but we continue to let it happen, to serve the agendas of rich liars in high places.

My children never saw their father cry, until I took them to their Grand Father's grave at Arlington. The Vietnam Wall wasn't any easier...

Phenomenal song - I heard it tonight for the first time. Rarely have I been moved so much, and so swiftly to veritably 'need' to learn/sing this song. I would love to play with John at some point.

NOT MAKING LIGHT OF A SERIOUS ISSUE. BUT, DO YOU HAVE THE ANSWER TO ALL THE WORLD'S PROBLEMS THAT WOULD LET EVERYONE LIVE IN PEACE AND SAFETY. AN EASY SENTIMENT TO WRITE AND IS TRUE. BUT UNTIL WE ALL FIND UTOPIA, SADLY THERE WILL ALWAYS BE WAR SOMEWHERE.

MEN ARE ENTITLED TO CRY AND SHOULD, BUT, YES, YOU'RE CORRECT. IT'S HEARTBREAKING WHEN THEY ARE DRIVEN TO TEARS.

So beautiful & so sad! I managed to keep the tears back until I got to 1.40 - - what grief..... It always hits me harder when I see a man cry.

A lovely tribute to our fallen soldiers. Time to welcome them home from Iraq and work on getting the rest of our soldiers home from Afghanistan too.
