Listen to the sounds John got out of his bass, eg LIVE @ LEEDS. He's filling in the gaps, doing all kinds of stuff, making his bass sound like another instrument, etc. His brass work on is great. Keith's personality got very tiresome very fast. ALWAYS in a party mood. Even after the party was long over. Take off the Long John Silver costume already. We get it. Take him out of WHO and he would have probably been totally lost drummingwise. Not a studio drummer in other words. Obviously.
