Peter Frampton's vibrato is brilliant, and he is one of my all time favorite players. He is magnificent.

Got this on vinyl along with Smash Your Head Against the Wall and Squires Fish Out of Water skipping class one bright afternoon at Berklee in Boston, easily the best music education I got that day :)

From Wikipedia|: Several tracks on Whistle Rymes including "Apron Strings" and "I Wonder" grew out of John Entwistle's domestic duties as a new father (His only son "Christopher Entwistle", was born that January in 1972). "Apron Strings" was further inspired by the British comedy series "The Two Ronnies" while "I Wonder", was often cited as an example of John Entwistle's warped perspective, accurately reflected all those insane questions young children pose to their parents."I consider Apron Strings as the best BJohn has ever written, but this album in itself is so good!

Thank you so much for uploading this, but I have a question. Are you absolutely sure that Keith Moon is on percussion? I don't think it's humanly possible for those drums to be any more un-Kieth Moon-like.

I bought this record new in 1972 when I was in high school and have always had a copy. The other day I found a nice minty silver Track US label copy of it in a bin for 50 cents. So it's still out there. My favorites are "Apron Strings" and "I Feel Better", both fantastic tracks, still lovin' them after 42 years!

No its theoretical that his mother died to him when john was five and his parents got devorced and his mother made him live with his grandparnets and barley visited him.

This was my break up song in the 70's.Whenever a chick broke my heart , I went right to the whistle rhymes album. This song in particular also the song" I feel better" 2 songs that always made me feel better ,It was their loss not mine(according to John Entwistle)

His best solo album in my opinion. Great songs, beautiful lead playing by Peter Frampton.

Not sure how rare it is, but it cost me £12 in my local record shop this week. Worth every penny mind

@yooperwholigan13 - I don't know how rare it is. In the US back in the 70's you could almost always find a copy of it in a record store's "cheap bin." I own two copies of it myself, but both have a corner of the cover cut off like they used to do for some odd reason to all the albums in the cheap bins.
