He sings from his heart he's not even thinking about the guitar or anything else just about what the song means, that makes it sound so great

I hope you realize it's the same tuning, just like a half step down, john butler probably just used this tuning because it's easier to sing to, however the ratio between strings are the same. and dude, it's as easy as this, I hope you realize it's the same tuning, just like a half step down, john butler probably just used this tuning because it's easier to sing to, however the ratio between strings are the same.

That low string is definately a B man. The song is in F#, and has a common I - IV - V based chord pattern. I - F#maj, IV - Bmaj, V - C#maj Look at this line. I've put in the bass notes. C# B F# All I mind's losing you See? Lol It's a B.

yeah, as long as it sounds good either way is fine =D

Exactly, because he doesn't actually play the 2nd string, so technically you could have it in either tuning. But when he strums the harmonic at the end it's DEFINATELY an F#Major, with the 2nd string being the major 3rd Bb. I play in open sus tunings alot, and I'd notice if this was one. It sounds exactly like the slide guitar stuff he does on songs like Happy Home.

im almost 100 percent sure, its one of my favorite songs to play and it sounds exactly the same. plus u can see his middle finger strumming the bottom string the whole time, his thumb and pointer fingers are playing the bass strings

Sure about that man? I know that's a low B he's got, but I always thought he used an open F# tunings for his lap guitars, and this sounds the same. My educated stab in the dark would be (low to high): B F# C# F# Bb C# If someone could correct or clarify that we'd all be grateful!
