Johan Johachim Quanz,, Flûtiste  virtuose à qui l'on doit un ouvrage très important qui fût publié la même année e, 1752 en allemand et en français sous le titre de " essai d'une méthode pour apprendre à jouer de la flûte traversière, avec plusieurs remarques pour servir au bon goût dans la musique ".Ce traité est encore à l'heure actuelle u ouvrage de référence, non seulement pour les flûtistes, mais aussi pour les autres musiciens qui souhaite se familiariser avec les règles et les conventions qui guidaient l'interprétation en ce début du 18 e siècle.
