Actually, he was a household name in my house. ;) He is one of the greats who started the whole guitar "shredder" thing in the 80's, and should be held up as one of the first from the 80's shredder genre! Totally cool style, a style all his own, and unlike others. That's saying something in the shredder genre.

Cjl5150 your cool....noexcusedrummer, your talking in circles. Usually a relative minor comes with major chords in songs. Key of E, c# m is common to follow. same notes, same relative scale. No shit? I didnt know what I already stated? If I wanted a music theory lesson i'd youtube music theory

But C# minor is the relative minor of E major-meaning that they share the same notes and chords. So, they are, in a sense, the same. I understand your point, but the other guy wasn't completely wrong.

c# minor and e minor are fundamentally different key signatures. If by the key of E you mean E Major, they are still different, as 1) they start on different root notes and have different dominant and sub-dominant notes. Major follows this pattern: wwhwwwh Minor follows this pattern: wwhwwhww Soooooo basically, they both contain notes that are not 100% the same. In essence, rendering them not the same.

E major right? I wanna learn all about keys and modes but I feel like I need to learn to recognize notes by sound and not by numbers and letters or else learning all that would be pretty pointless, considering it would sound really... well wack!!

C# minor is very common, extremely common. You ever heard of the key of E? ITS THE SAME KEY......think before you post, you now look like a total moron
