This is not just a good song, this is a very, very moving and powerful song/video combination, and is performed to perfection. You not only hear but can FEEL the emotion in his voice. Magnificent.

I love Sugar Hill Records, they have had a lot of great talents. Country radio has missed out a lot.

This song was written about my great-great-great grandparents. I love this so much. I've seen the letters and they really were just as emotional, loving and beautiful as Joey and Rory portray them to be. Makes me cry to think that this is actually my very own family they're singing about. However, their story represents so many others, as well. Wonderful song, Joey and Rory.

I'm a big fan of Rory's storytelling this one is a real tearjerker. Rory is making an movie about Josephine and women who served during the Civil War. He is seeking support on Kickstarter if you want to be a backer

Is it bad that I was watching this in history with the class and broke down crying? And I was like the only one? To think, we live in Texas and they don't have any kind of reaction.

This is a moving song about the civil war. But could be written for any war. Noting the comments on the horrors of Civil War and those who lost family in Union prison camps. My great-grandfather died at Andersonville Prison Camp. That was just as horrific.

We went to Gettysburg 8/2014. Very moving. To stand in those fields was very emotional. Fantastic song.

Many of my ancestors fought in the Civil War for the Confederacy. One of them died in a Union POW camp in Ohio.

This brought me to tears. Many of my ancestors didn't make it back home to Carolina after fighting for Dixie.

One thing touching about this video, among many other things, is how the soldiers are not portrayed as heroically walking through the streets. They are portrayed as tired. They are portrayed as sad. They are portrayed as going through hardships not related to battle. They are portrayed as human in the same way many of us are feeling as we view this.
