NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (American Music Makers 0015-B) Out of Pittsburgh, the fifteenth release out of twenty-one singles issued on producer Lou Guarino's new label after his exit as head of operations at World Artists records. Joey Dallas (Conti) pulls off a pretty decent performance on this obscure tune that was incorrectly labeled as a CAROLE KING and GERRY GOFFIN composition. The tune is in reality entitled 'The Story Of My Life' written by Robert Thompson and Lou Guarino. Two singles issued before this one on American Music Makers #0013 is an alternate version of 'The Story Of My Life' credited to The MUSIC COMBINATION featuring Joey Conti utilizing the same backing track as on AMM #0015. The Carole King & Gerry Goffin tune 'Lonely Shore', is correctly pressed and labeled on the other side of AMM #0013. I think it's safe to assume that there was an obvious break down in quality control at the pressing plant when this run of American Music Makers #0015 was manufactured.

Here is my take, this song is NOT "Lonely Shore" and is not written by Goffin & King. There is a major mixup of the labels at AMM. Gerry Goffin is not known for writing songs where the title is not in the song. I have heard "Lonely Shore" by the Music Combination featuring Joey Conti and you can hear Carole King's writing style in it, this song you cannot. I would venture to say that this song is "The Story Of My Life" written by someone other than Goffin/King.13 years ago
