"Love Train", "Rock The Boat" Or Maybe "The Love I Lost"??? Well, This Great Song From 1975 By Joe Simon Was Not The First But Is Certainly One Of The Biggest...Yet, It Rarely Gets Played Anymore On Commercial Oldies Stations. Yo, this was, and still is a bad jam. A killer song from Joe Simon, call it what you want. Also, I remember listening to CKLW late at night as a kid, when I should've been asleep. LOL. I lived on the east coast and that's the only time I could pick up the station. I was a big fan. Fond listening memories.

To those beauties that claim that this song is not disco, then what type of music is it?, There are references to dance floors, dance types (the bump), music types, etc. The video features people dancing in a disco like setting.

Great song, but I suspect Music Mike will never have to worry about being surprised by a paternity suit.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.....:-)

In 1989, I was working at R&B/Soul Radio Station, WVOL-AM 1470 (known as "The Mighty 147") in Nashville, Tennessee. At that time, station owner and management decided to satellite automate the station, which they retained me to help take care of the automation & work as a Live D.J. on their sister FM Station. I was the last Live D.J. on WVOL playing R&B at that time. This song by Joe Simon was the last song I played on WVOL being live. WVOL is still around to this day playing Classic R&B!

Great comment from you, Noel. There was a LOT of great music, back in the day, which is not the case right now. Sure, there were a very few people who were not nearly as good as the majority of artists popular at that time, but, most of them were great. With today's music industry, most of the so-called "artists" are NOT very talented, at all. What do YOU think about this, Noel?

My grandmother used to listen to Joe Simon songs all the time when I was growing up in Cleveland, Ohio. It's funny, but today, I really like some of them myself. I sure miss gramma (1926-2009).
