Always looks like a cancer patient. But that's not the point. The point is, playing scales like a computer program does not equal music.

If Yngwie wasn't such a JOKE player rattling off a thousand notes when not needed, Deep Purple might have called him instead of Joe.

I'd have to disagree, Exxon. IF God IS a British rock guitarist, His name isn't Jimmy P a I g e or Eric Clapton or Richie Blackmore, it's Robert F r I p p (King Crimson). F r I p p and Frank Zappa are the two guitarists I'd rate even above Hendrix.

@crackcorn"When did anyone give a shit about Rithie Blackmore before Yngwie...."Seriously???  Maybe I misunderstood your comment, but if you are insinuating that it took Yngwie Malmsteen to bring attention to Ritchie Blackmore, that is as false as any statement could ever be.

Ritchie's played a "pizzicato" style that involved picking with his right hand everything that he fretted with his left coupled with a very clean guitar sound. Also the fact that Jon Lord had a distorted organ helped. In fact, the fret board on Ritchie's Stratocasters were rounded out with a file and got deeper and deeper as you went up the neck. This helped develop the style that we know today as distinctly Ritchie. Satriani's style is completely unique in its own right but very different.
