I heard both version and always like this version better. I bought the record but of course lost it long ago. I had to laugh when seeing the above 45. Brings back a lot of memories.

I had read an article that was basically an interview with Joe Bataan. He says that both he and Tommy Shondell had recorded their joints like simultaneously but Tommy's was released first (something about Management involved) so although Joe's version did go gold that because it was released after Tommy's version it did not sell as well.. I am an old school R&B guy and this version back then and still today does the job completely & succinctly PEACE & LOVE
