She is a patient songwriter. Contemplative is a good word to describe her style. I caught her live concert on Austin City Limits and watched it twice in a row. Awesome stuff.

@Blamepandora85 Just slow down. Some songs run, jump and skip and pull you along by the sheer force of their momentum. Other songs sit by a lake, humming and skipping stones until you're ready to meet them there and lay back by the shore for a while. I'd say most of Joanna Newsom's songs fall into the second category.
