Lyrics:My heart cries for youSighs for you, dies for youAnd my arms long for youPlease come back to meIf you're in Arizona I'll follow youIf you're in Minnesota, I'll be there tooYou'll have a million chances to start anewBecause my love is endless for youMy heart cries for youSighs for you, dies for youMy arms long for youPlease come back to meThe bloom has left the roses since you left meThe birds have left my window since you left meI'm lonely as a sailboat that's lost at seaI'm lonely as a human can beMy heart cries for you, please come back to meAn unimportant quarrel is what we hadWe have to learn to live with the good and the badTogether we were happy, apart we're sadThis loneliness is driving me madMy heart cries for you, dies for youMy arms long for youPlease come back to me(Come back to me)

How about viewing Guy Mitchell's excellent rendition of this song in 1950.Guy Mitchell - My Heart Cries For You Elvis Presley sang this song also but he substituted Minnesota with Albuquerque then he giggled knowing that Albuquerque was not the right word. Elvis Presley My Heart Cries For You/Home recording. All renditions --Guy Mitchell, Gene and Jo, and Elvis were great.

Thank you for the blast from the past. I was living with my old Grandmother when I was a young lad listening to this on a wind up gramophone, when I heard this on here, with my eyes shut, I was back with her in front of the coal fire with her sitting knitting,

The song was beautifully rendered except for one thing. Jo Stafford changed the word Minnesota to Oklahoma. The real word is Minnesota and not Oklahoma.

Last week on a oldie tv station I heard Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis sing it on the old Colgate Comedy Hour from around 1951.... yeah it been many that sang it. I bet we could find many version in you tube search just by the title of the song, I posted it by at least 3 different artist myself, thanks

I think Guy Mitchell recorded it first and it was a big hit in 1951. Remember hearing it back then.

they sang great together, didn't they?...never heard this rendition of this old song...was there ever any romance between these two?... but, those phrases about following the poor guy to all States of the Union is a little weird...sounds like a STALKER!...lol. L.

Gene's singing is above the ordinary on this one. With a singing partner like Jo Stafford, i would imagine he had to go that extra mile.
